Throwback to my college workbench. It makes my current one look clean! But now I have a whole room to hold my mess.
My workbench. It's always a bit of a disaster. I think every creative space is. I cover my shop walls with things that will inspire me - sketches of things I want to make one day, inspirational quotes, my son's artwork...
Almost everything I make starts with a drawing and a tea (or in this case a hot chocolate... maybe a latte if I'm feeling fancy).
I've always had a passion for learning and creating. Even as adults, we learn, we grow, we write our own stories and have the opportunity to become better versions of ourselves. It's never too late to start a new story.
Cicala is Italian for cicada, an insect that represents rebirth in many cultures. I chose the name to represent my personal rebirth when I decided that this business, this crazy dream of mine, is possible. That I can muster up the courage and resolve to be the person I want to be and live the life I want to live. And that maybe through my creations I can pass along a bit of my resulting happiness to all of you.
